All this talk I do about gender and about Masculinity and Femininity always takes me back to the days where I would watch movies like Legally Blonde as a child.
These movies poked fun at the fact that feminine symbols are often misread for weaknesses, often to the male disadvantage and almost always mistakenly.
Unashamed of my love for all things considered ‘girly’ a term I hate to use but it does the trick, I decided to glitter my car and I thought I would share it with you.
I love playing with ideas and this one just popped into my head and I had to make it happen.
Feel free to ask questions , I hope you enjoy the video.
To do this I 1. Masked off all the areas I didn’t want to glitter.
2.Using sandpaper 240 I roughed up the surface of the existing paint, cleaned it and gave it 2 coats of primer.
3.Ontop of the primer I sprayed evenly ‘Permanent Adhesive Spray’ and then let it dry a little before sprinkling glitter using the Hobby Craft Glitter Shaker ontop.
4. I then let that dry, hoovered off the excess which didn’t stick using Dyson hand held with a soft bristle attachment and then repeated the glue and glitter over the top.
5.Once that had then dried I added approximately 5 coats of Halfords Clear Laquer over the top leaving 10 minutes in between each coat.
